| This is a grass owl that was brought in DOA. It had a big gunshot wound to the left thigh, and a thru and thru gunshot under the left wing. It was brought in tied up, gauze wraped on the wound, and being carried in the open. Its hard to determine wether it was the blood loss or shock that killed it, my guess is shock. As it had one last breathe as I took it from the individual. It is beyond my realm of comprehension as to why in the world someone would shoot one of these! People just dont understand! They dont realize how important they are to the eco-system, as well as how beautiful they are. I dont get many gunshot victims here (2 in 5 years) but this makes me DAM MAD! I am starting a campain monday to get the word out. If I have to contact every newspaper and television station in the country, I will. This is senseless slaughter!!!!!! |
